What Is an Xtream Codes Login and How to Use It

Setting it up, step by step

1. Open the activation message and find the three fields

   Start on the phone, not the telly. Bring up the Orca4KTV thread on WhatsApp and pick out the three labelled fields: the server URL, the username and the password. They may sit on separate lines or run together, so read them carefully before you go near the app. If any of the three is missing from the message, stop here and ask support to resend it rather than guessing, because a guessed value simply fails at the login screen and wastes ten minutes.

2. Spot which login your app is offering

   Most players hand you two ways in, and you want the right one. In IPTV Smarters it is filed under "Login with Xtream Codes API"; over in TiViMate the same choice reads "Xtream Codes login"; elsewhere it gets trimmed to "Xtream" or plain "API". Wherever a player offers both this and an M3U URL, take Xtream every time, since it pulls the programme guide and the on-demand library across by itself and a plain playlist frequently does not.

3. Key in the server URL exactly as written

   This one field is behind most failed logins, so give it your full attention. It is the complete address, http:// at the start and the port number closing it off, in the shape http://host:8080, with nothing trailing after the port. Copy it verbatim and fight the urge to tidy it up, drop the http:// or round the port off, because every character is load-bearing. On a set-top keyboard, type it slowly and read it back before you move on.

4. Add the username and password

   Copy both straight out of the WhatsApp message and mind the capitals, because they are case sensitive and one wrong case reads back to you as a rejected account. If your app lets you paste field by field, do that on a phone to sidestep typing errors on a fiddly remote. The profile or connection name the app also asks for is purely cosmetic and changes nothing, so call it something like "Living room" that helps you tell devices apart later.

5. Save and let the account sync

   Hit save and leave it to work; the channels, the on-demand library and the programme guide all populate on their own, taking a minute or two on the first run and seconds after. Do not stab at the screen while it loads. Once it settles, open a UK channel such as BBC One to confirm the guide is filling in against the right time in GMT or BST.

6. Reuse the same three values on your other screens

   The single most useful thing to know about Xtream Codes is that the exact same three values set up every screen in the house. Save them somewhere safe, a note on your phone or a slip in a drawer, and the next telly, tablet or laptop is a one-minute job rather than a fresh support request. Lose them and support can reissue them, but keeping them to hand saves everyone the message.

If something will not play

The app rejects the login as invalid

Nine times in ten the fault is the server field, not the subscription. Check it opens with http:// and ends with the port and nothing after it, then retype the username and password by hand, watching every capital. A trailing space picked up from a copy-paste is the classic hidden culprit, so type the fields out once by hand before you conclude the account itself is at fault.

The app asks for an M3U URL instead of a login

Some of the older players speak only playlist, not login. When one does, reach for the M3U link tucked into that same activation message; it is the very same account served up in a different format. It logs in but reports the account expired

That points at the subscription date, not the login format. If the plan has genuinely run to its end, renew on WhatsApp and the same three values start working again within minutes, with nothing to reinstall. If you see this on day one, the account has most likely not been switched on yet, so send support a quick message to have it activated.

The login works in one app but fails in another

When Smarters signs in happily but a second player will not, the server URL has almost certainly been entered differently in the two, a missing port or a stray slash on the end. Open the working app, read its server field back character by character, and match the other to it.
